About
I’m Obiora Igbo—a certified digital marketing professional, multidisciplinary strategist, and creative director, driven by one core principle: the power of communication.
My journey began with music. I started with the trumpet in elementary school, moved on to drums in high school jazz band, and today I still play piano. As a kid, I spent hours reading the dictionary, jotting down new words just to expand my vocabulary. That early love for language naturally evolved into a deep interest in people, their behavior, and the way they connect—leading me to study Psychology and Sociology in college, inspired by my AP Psych class in high school. What drew me to all of these activities was a desire to get to the bottom of something—to immerse myself fully, get my hands dirty, and understand how a concept, emotion, or idea plays out in the real world. Whether through sound, behavior, or story, I’ve always been fascinated by how things work and why they matter.
It was in college that I naturally discovered my love for marketing. It felt like the intersection of everything I gravitate toward: psychology, the mind of the individual; sociology, the collective mind of society; visual art, what appeals to the eye; sound, what moves the heart and body; and words, the glue that ties every narrative together to deliver a compelling message. Marketing became the perfect vehicle to blend my creativity with strategy and purpose.
Though my parents once hoped I’d become a lawyer, drawn to my way with words, I knew I needed a more creative outlet. A photography class in high school lit the spark, and that passion evolved into graphic design in college. Through my growing network in music, I started designing cover art and event flyers for friends. That quickly expanded into full campaign work for artists, labels, venues, and beyond.
Over time, my work grew across industries—health, food, wellness, art, tech, education, and corporate spaces. I’ve had the opportunity to create impactful content and lead strategic marketing campaigns for everything from brick oven manufacturers at the Super Bowl to pop-up shops with hip-hop legends, digital short films for gallery openings, and corporate wellness programs for major fitness brands.
Across every project, my goal remains the same: to make ideas useful, engaging, and memorable. I’ve learned to adapt quickly, wear multiple hats, and move seamlessly from creative direction to digital execution—because ultimately, the common thread in all of my work is effective communication. Whether I’m storyboarding a documentary, managing social media strategy, designing graphics, or building influencer relationships, I strive to bring clarity, intention, and impact to everything I create.
As a first-generation Nigerian-American, I was raised to work hard, stay curious, and find meaning in the value I bring to others. While my parents once envisioned law school or engineering, I’m proud to say they now fully support the path I’ve carved—one where I use my words, visuals, and ideas to help brands and people tell their stories with purpose.
There’s no greater joy to me than a job well done—and for me, that job is helping people and businesses communicate their vision in the most thoughtful, creative, and impactful way possible.
